Join the University of Waterloo and Maplesoft at an exclusive four week workshop focused on online course development. During the workshop in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, you'll have the opportunity to complete an entire STEM online course on any topic you choose!



Have you been wondering how to get your first online course off the ground? Or, are you looking to take your online STEM courses to the next level? This summer, immerse yourself in content creation with the goal of producing an entire online STEM course, or a large section of a course, that you can implement as early as the following academic term.

The workshop will include directed training interspersed with periods of independent work, as well as dedicated periods for feedback, questions, and discussion with experts from both the University of Waterloo and Maplesoft. In addition, outside visits to local universities or research institutes will be arranged to encourage the creation of a community.

What's included?

  • 4 weeks (20 business days) of study, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
  • Directed training interspersed with periods of independent work, provided by Maplesoft
  • 3 days of immersive course development training, plus half-day course design workshops, provided by the University of Waterloo (see agenda)
  • Breakfast and lunch provided each weekday at Maplesoft's corporate headquarters
  • 2 group dinners at local restaurants with course participants, instructors and facilitators
  • Accommodations in the University of Waterloo residence (available July 9 to August 5)
  • Shuttle transportation to and from Maplesoft as well as to local universities
  • Full use of Maplesoft's facilities, including: a full gym, fitness classes, a pool table, complimentary coffee, tea, juice, milk and spring water, and use of Maplesoft's corporate concierge service
